In order to promote air connectivity between Imphal (India), Manipur with international destinations and bringing stronger ties with Southeast Asian Countries in line with Act East Policy, Transport Department, Government of Manipur launched Mandalay-Imphal- Mandalay flight Service by M/s Air KBZ Ltd. Myanmar with M/s KB Enterprises, Manipur as the tour operator on 23rd November, 2019 from Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, Imphal, Manipur.

The Mandalay-Imphal-Mandalay Chartered Flight service was given permission for a limited period upto 7th December, 2019 by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India.

In order to provide scheduled flights between Imphal – Mandalay sector, the Government of Manipur has taken up with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, for including the Imphal-Mandalay sector under the International UDAN scheme. The Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India has assured the State Government to take up the Imphal-Mandalay sector under UDAN International on priority and assured to expedite and complete the bidding process of selection of Airlines for Imphal-Mandalay sector within 2(two) months.

The commencement of scheduled flights in Imphal-Mandalay sector will immensely benefit the passengers in terms of low ticket price, predictable schedules of flights, uninterrupted period of flight service and help in boosting the economic development of the region and promoting closer social- cultural-religious ties with the Southeast Asian countries.
